We craft all our products with care and thought, brainstorming how mindful natural ingredients can best work together to support your wellbeing. Here’s a taste of the journey our products embark on, starting from ideas dreamed up by us, and ending at home with you
Creating a concept
When first dreaming up our handmade bath and body and candle creations, we think about what people might need and how we can help provide something meaningful and mindful to suit. Using her knowledge as a formulator and of aromatherapy and essential oils, Linda understands what scents blend well together and what natural ingredients combine for beneficial wellbeing effects.
With our Comfort and Hope Soap, which we launched in March 2021, we thought about the difficulties of the last year during the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to look ahead to a brighter future. We thought about what aromas could provide an uplifting sense of serenity, and so Comfort and Hope, with a blend of patchouli, frankincense and ylang-ylang essential oils was born.
Test, try, and test again
Experimenting and testing is a key part of our process—and often, it’s the one we find most rewarding. Whether it’s varying the amounts of natural essential oils in a blend, trying out different vegan and cruelty-free fragrance oils scents for our candles, or getting the temperature just right when we make our all natural moisturiser bars or lip balms, it’s a fun process and a satisfying feeling. With Comfort and Hope, we tested out a range of different shapes before finding the classic and simple shape we eventually settled on. We loved the smooth and curved feeling of this oval in the palm of our hand, and found that the handmade soap lathered up so nicely when washing with this shape. To ensure there’s zero waste, we give away our testing samples to friends and family (or use them up ourselves at home!).
An idea comes to fruition
Once we’ve made a product and designed the eco-friendly packaging and labelling for it, Suyin spends time setting up our mini photo-studio in our at-home office. We like to use natural props including dried botanicals to bring our creations to life. We love sharing these on social media, hearing your feedback and also seeing photographs of our products at home with you.
We’re thrilled that Comfort and Hope has been so versatile and popular since we launched it in March, receiving wholesale orders and becoming a firm favourite as part of our collaboration gift set package.
